About Early Childhood Australia Northern Territory Branch (ECA NT)

ECA NT Branch is the Northern Territory Branch of Early Childhood Australia (ECA). As national peak, ECA supports ongoing advocacy for the best interests of young children with the vision 'every young child thriving and learning'. To achieve this vision, ECA NT champions the rights of young children to thrive and learn at home, in the community, within early learning settings and through the early years of schooling.

The NT Branch is the Northern Territory Inclusion Agency (NT-IA) and NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention Partner in the Darwin Urban region. ECA NT also provides professional learning to the sector, family programs and undertakes projects for and with Government and other like-minded stakeholders.

The ECA NT Branch has a staff of 27 located across the NT with the main office in Berrimah and office locations in Alice Springs, Coolalinga and Katherine.

About the role

ECA NT is seeking a dynamic leader with strong communication skills, who is able to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, nurture key relationships with the Early Childhood and Disability Sectors, Government, funding partners and members.

Additionally candidates should have a track record for organisational excellence, advocacy, business development and innovation. A strategic leader, people and operational manager who has knowledge and experience in Early Childhood, Community and/or Disability Services.

The position is full time. Remuneration will be negotiable dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Skills and experience

To be successful in the role you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Understanding of the not-for-profit landscape
  • Min 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Early Childhood, Community and/or Disability services
  • Postgraduate qualification in leadership and/or Management highly desirable
  • Be values-driven
  • Proven ability to think critically and strategically
  • Appetite for identifying opportunities to innovate and drive growth
  • Strong commitment to stakeholder relationships
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills including tender and grant applications and proposal writing skills
  • Ability to assess advocacy needs and provide advice
  • Experience in contract management and related reporting, governance, and compliance
  • Ability to set clear priorities, delegate and guide investment in people and systems
