About the role

ECASA welcomes applications from appropriately qualified Social Workers or Psychologists to join our counselling team. The rewarding roles require a strong commitment to trauma-informed collaborative practice. You would be part of a supportive, experienced and hardworking team with a well embedded clinical supervision and professional development program.

ECASA provides counselling and advocacy services to adults and young people/children in the Eastern Region who have experienced sexual assault. This includes crisis and short to medium term counselling for recent and historical sexual assault and opportunities for group work, consultation and co-facilitation of professional and community education programs.

The roles are primarily based at our Ringwood East site but could involve outreach locations in the East. There is an opportunity for clinicians to increase their knowledge and experience in the sexual assault area and an expectation of availability for after-hours on-call duties.

About you

To be successful in this role you should have the following:

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology
  • Knowledge and experience in crisis intervention and intake
  • Relevant experience in the area of sexual assault and/or family violence or mental health, with an understanding of trauma assessment and treatment
  • An understanding of the dynamics and impact of sexual assault related to adults and young people/children
  • A respectful, compassionate, innovative and reflective approach with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those impacted by sexual assault
  • A strong team commitment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
