The Victorian Government has recently appointed Turning Point, Australia’s leading addiction treatment, research and education centre, to set up a new statewide specialist service to support Victoria’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Services as well as community alcohol and other drug (AOD) services to provide integrated care for people living with co-occurring mental illness and substance use or addiction. This new service will lead innovative, high impact, interdisciplinary, addiction and mental health research and education and support the delivery of expert primary and secondary consultation for people with the most complex needs, across Victoria’s transformed Mental Health and Wellbeing System.

About the role

The Clinical Transformation Services Lead (CT Services Lead) will support and lead in partnership with the Clinical Director and Associate Director, the development and establishment of new clinical service delivery models at Turning Point and four new Addiction Services in line with the principles and strategic objectives of the newly established Statewide Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. In collaboration with service managers and key leaders, this role will lead transformation work to establish new services and redesign existing services to align with the statewide centre’s remit to provide integrated and specialist care.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Demonstrated high level capacity in leading the development and delivery of significant and/or complex education and training projects
  • Post-graduate tertiary qualification in the health, social or behavioural sciences field
  • Clinical experience in the alcohol and drug or mental health fields or sound understanding of current alcohol and drug and mental health issues
  • Ability to project manage a number of education/training projects
  • Ability to conceptualise new education/teaching subjects and ideas and develop curriculum
  • Well-developed computing skills, including word processing (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise, influence and negotiate with funders and other stakeholders
  • Experience in successfully working with health care professionals and executive staff at a senior organisational level across multifaceted health and community services sectors
