Our Client, Many Rivers is a for-purpose organisation that provides Microenterprise Development and Community Economic Development support to Australians experiencing disadvantage who want to access the economy, however for various reasons, lack equitable access to do so. Inspired by Christian values, Many Rivers exists to help Indigenous and other Australians experiencing disadvantage to improve their situations through economic development and enterprise. As a not-for-profit, their work is made possible through funding relationships with philanthropic donors and foundations, corporates and government partners.
They are now seeking to appoint a new Head of Business Development who is responsible for attracting and retaining partnerships and financial support to help expand their program in Australia through building key relationships with these types of organisations, both commercially and philanthropically. As a member of the Executive team, with the CEO, you will help contribute to the strategic direction and organisational leadership to ensure achievement of the Board approved KPI’s and targets and the contracted outcomes for the organisation.
You will be a seasoned business professional who is strongly aligned to the Christian values of this organisation, who has the unique ability to inspire others, to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, including major donors, philanthropic and corporate leaders and has a proven track record of success in senior leadership roles where you have achieved funding growth and been responsible for business development.
The successful candidate will possess an entrepreneurial orientation coupled with an ability to build capacity to sustain ongoing revenue growth, as well as possessing a good mix between strategic and operational skills. You are highly organised, have proven experience in business development, fundraising and marketing, possess excellent people skills, are tertiary qualified and have a passion for social justice and helping those experiencing disadvantaged.
