Who we're looking for

As part of our growing trans-disciplinary Childhood Intervention Services team at Hawker, ACT, EACH is looking for a Speech Pathologist (known internally as a Key Worker) to provide community and home-based therapy to children, making a huge difference to the lives of those with developmental delays and disabilities.

If you're a Speech Pathologist, qualified as either Grade 1 or Grade 2, enjoy variety in your day, and working closely with other service delivery professionals, you could be exactly the person we're looking for! The position can be adapted to full-time or part-time, for 12 months fixed term maternity leave cover.

What you'll be doing

You'll build relationships with the community as you deliver services at clients' homes, childcare centres, kindergartens, and schools to work within the child's natural settings. Using the social model of health approach, you'll identify goals and provide support and strategies for children 7 - 18 years and their families. With the knowledge you'll build of EACH's internal and external services, you'll feel confident making client referrals for secondary consultations, as required. EACH will support you to develop a working knowledge of the NDIS and requirements on the service provision framework.

Who you'll be working with

The team in Hawker consists of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. The position will work as part of this multi-disciplinary team contributing expertise and guidance in the delivery of therapy services to assist children and young people to meet their identified goals.

We work within a model of coaching families to identify their goals for themselves and their children, support their capacity to help their children live an ordinary life and support them to link in with universal services. The position may also provide individual and group therapy, parent education and information sessions and professional development for the education and care sectors.
