About the position/s

Our headspace Port Macquarie team is seeking experienced Psychologists or Mental Health Social Workers to join our multi-disciplinary team, to deliver focused psychological strategies under the Better Access to Mental Health Care program to young people aged 12-25.

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, acting as a one-stop-shop for young people seeking help with mental health, drug and alcohol, primary health and work/study issues.

We're very flexible to ensure you get the best of both worlds; you can maintain your existing private or public work and provide contracted services to us for as little as one day each week. This provides a great opportunity for you to expand your scope and provide additional support to the community during these difficult times.

What you'll be doing

You will be providing high standard, person-centred counselling and focused psychological strategies to youth with mental health issues. Work with the Clinical Lead and multidisciplinary team members as needed to coordinate care. As a contractor, you will have ongoing referral base of young people who have been assessed and are ready to access services. In addition, you will be supported with:

• Full administrative support (including reception, billings, appointment bookings and reminder service)
• Fully web-based medical record software with IT support
• Co-located General Practitioners

Who we're looking for

We hope to hear from fully registered Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists or accredited Mental Health Social Workers with experience working with young people with different mental health problems. You must be eligible to be billed through the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS - Better Access to Mental Health Care). You will hold your own Professional Indemnity insurance and ABN.
