If you're a Peer Worker, qualified as Certificate IV in either Mental Health Peer Work, Disability, or equivalent, enjoy variety in your day, and working closely with other service delivery professionals, you might be exactly the person we're looking for!
As part of our team working across Boronia, EACH is looking for a Peer Worker to provide recovery-orientated, evidence-based peer support interventions to mental health clients by utilising their own lived experience of recovery in a mental health context making a huge difference to the lives of those effected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is highly preferred that you have WORKED in a lived experience capacity in a mental health role.
The Peer Worker will be an integral member of the team and draw on the unique perspective and contribution of a lived experience of recovery from mental illness and substance abuse, to instil confidence and hope in others about the recovery journey while increasing client's ability to be leading the life they want to lead.
You will:
You should have a strong sense of empathy and want to use your own experiences to support others in similar situations. You will have experience in and an understanding of mental health and the public or private health system in Australia.
The team is newly formed to meet the growing demands of mental health support as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It consists of a supportive and trusted Team Leader, Peer Workers and Recovery workers, working from Boronia.
