Occupational Therapist - School Aged Therapy Services

EACH

Who we are

At EACH, our vision is for a healthy and inclusive community.

Founded on the vision that everyone is entitled to good health, we're one of the nation's leading health and community service providers, offering a broad range of services for over 40 years. Our services include Community Health, Mental Health, NDIS, Counselling, Support for Older Australians, and Family Services.

Who we're looking for

We are on the lookout for an AHPRA qualified Occupational Therapist (either Grade 1 or 2) to join our School-Aged Therapy Team in Hawker, ACT. As part of our commitment to providing ongoing clinical supervision to staff, EACH can provide support for new or recent graduates, and would also welcome applications from more experienced therapists.

Our ideal candidate will be coordinating and managing a workload with competing priorities, leaning on their knowledge of typical and atypical childhood development. The capacity to engage and form positive relationships with children and engage their families and other supports will be crucial to success in the role, especially throughout the relationships with children with developmental differences.

This role is for maternity leave cover for approximately 12 months, and can be tailored to offer either part-time or full-time employment.

What you'll be doing

You'll build relationships with the community as you deliver services at clients' homes, childcare centres, kindergartens and schools to work within the child's natural settings. Using the social model of health approach, you'll be able to identify goals and provide support and strategies for children aged 7 to 18, and their families.

Our client base comprises children, living with a variety of childhood disabilities - predominantly autism, intellectual disability, and delay. Our therapy services are based around a family-centred philosophy, in which all team members collaborate to work towards the goals identified by our clients and their families. This involves face to face therapy services, engaging with families, liaising with service providers and funding bodies, and preparing reports.

Therapy services are provided at school, in homes, at our clinic in Hawker, and via telehealth.

Who you'll be working with

We are a small but collaborative team! When fully staffed, EACH in the ACT has six therapists, an office administrator and a manager. In everything we do, we are dedicated and committed to providing excellent service to our clients.

What we offer

EACH offers all staff benefits by offering Not for Profit Salary Packaging, a family-friendly workplace strategy, and support through a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program.
