At EACH, our vision is for a healthy and inclusive community.
Founded on the vision that everyone is entitled to good health, we’re one of the nation’s leading health and community service providers, offering a broad range of services for over 40 years. Our services include Community Health, Mental Health, NDIS, Counselling, Support for Older Australians, Family Services and Social Housing.
We’re looking for our next team member with experience in the social or community housing sector. Ideally, you will have the ability to build positive relationships with clients and other stakeholders (such as Real Estate Agents), show a high level of empathy towards people experiencing a housing crisis, and enjoy working closely in a team of values-driven professionals.
The Housing Officer is a key member of the Homelessness to Home project, which aims to respond to the needs of diverse community members experiencing homelessness, and who are currently residing in hotel accommodation due to COVID-19. The role is essential to ensure sustainable tenancies by undertaking efficient administrative functions and actions that will assist and maintain tenancies for the duration of the head lease program.
As the Housing Officer, you will provide client-focused tenancy management services to people who are experiencing social disadvantage. You will undertake tenancy & property management of a community housing portfolio, including housing for people with disabilities and mental health, working alongside tenants and support providers.
Using your understanding of local barriers and difficulties experienced by clients experiencing a housing crisis, you will provide client-focused tenancy management across the Melbourne Metropolitan region. You will maintain tenancy systems, collect and monitor rental payments, undertake data collection, provide advice and information to tenants, visit properties as required, and manage tenancy and maintenance issues whilst operating under the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act. Your role will involve working closely with government departments, clients, support agencies, and relevant EACH departments.
The EACH Housing team works closely with Case Workers, Team Leaders, Operations Managers, Leasing Consultants and other stakeholders to assist tenants to sustain their housing through an integrated service delivery. Our team is dedicated to placing customers at the centre of everything we do.
EACH offers all staff benefits by offering Not for Profit Salary Packaging, a flexible workplace strategy, and support through a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program.
We want to know why you would like to work with EACH and what you can bring to this role. Please attach a cover letter with your resume.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
