Who we're looking for

If you hold a minimum Tertiary qualification in Psychology, AHPRA registered or eligible for membership with the association in your field and have demonstrated clinical mental health experience working with young people to deliver therapeutic interventions, then you might be exactly the person we're looking for!

As part of this vibrant youth mental health service, our headspace Dandenong & Narre Warren team, together with EACH is looking for an experienced Mental Health Clinician who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people in the region to work part-time (.7EFT) in this school setting.

What you'll be doing

The Lyndale Secondary College at the Dandenong North campus provides outstanding opportunities for young people, aged 10 to 18 years of age who have disengaged from school or where a mainstream school learning environment is seen to be inappropriate to meet the young person's needs.

We are seeking a clinician with the ability to engage well with students, their families and carers who have a range of presenting mental health difficulties in an early intervention framework.

Working in conjunction with the headspace Intake team and partnering agencies and as the point of access to headspace for young people & other community members, this position will complete comprehensive screening psychological, cognitive and mental health assessments of young people, coordinate supported referrals, provide parent education sessions to families and provide therapeutic holding and brief interventions while assisting in the development and delivery of therapeutic groups.

Who you'll be working with

Our team at headspace is led by a Manager and a Team Leader providing support and direction for this role and is a constant presence for any queries or guidance. Working with other professionals at Lyndale Secondary College, you will be provided with day-to-day support from the Principal, other members of the school leadership team and external health professionals/services when necessary.
