Who we're looking for

If you are registered as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, enjoy variety in your day, and working closely with other service delivery professionals, you might be exactly the person we're looking for!

As part of our Ringwood Family Relationship Centre, EACH is looking for a practitioner to provide the knowledge & skills required in resolving disputed issues inclusive of parenting, child welfare, child support and property. The practitioner will have extensive working knowledge of the FRC Operational Framework, Family Law Act, FDRP Obligations and YCFA and other relevant state and federal legislation.

We are offering flexibility with a hybrid model of on-site and work from home, and will work with you to ensure this role works for you between a 0.8 and 1.0 FTE.

What you'll be doing

The Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) assesses suitability, engages supports or specialist services as required and facilitates sessions.

In this role you will;

  • Assess risk and formulate evidence-based assessments and decisions and to communicate these effectively whilst understanding and considering the impact of parental conflict on children is integral in the success of this role.
  • Take very clear and detailed case notes.
  • Use your understanding of complexities of parents who have separated and work with those with vulnerabilities such as ongoing conflicted relationships, family violence, mental illness, and substance misuse.
  • Use your experience in assisting parties to consider options, discuss issues relating to their dispute/s and assist with documenting their agreements about future arrangements.
  • Feel confident within a high conflict environment to maintain a future focus, manage conflict, respond to risks and maintain neutrality between disputing parties.
  • Have the opportunity to co-facilitate group work.

Who you'll be working with

You will be joining our strong team, embedded in a learning environment supported by other professionals working to support families with the impact of family separation. The children's welfare is the centre of our work and their needs are our primary focus.

Formal and informal debriefing and counselling is provided and professional development is available if required.
