Who we're looking for

If you're an Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) professional, qualified in Cert IV AOD or equivalent, enjoy variety in your day, and working closely with other service delivery professionals, you might be exactly the person we're looking for!

As part of our AOD team at Ringwood, EACH is looking for a Counsellor to provide accessible, high quality, therapeutic AOD counselling and associated health services to our clients. You will provide counselling to clients from a range of ages from 16-80 and will involve some outreach work to youth clients aged 16-25 years.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with a diverse and dynamic AOD team, you will;

  • Provide counselling to reduce AOD related harm to individuals and their families
  • Promote recovery and identify a range of co-occurring mental health, social and primary health issues associated with substance use
  • Provide integrated and collaborative counselling and support solutions
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the program and team development

Negotiating the community health setting within a non-for-profit setting will come naturally to you as you draw on your previous work experience within the sector. Your effective counselling skills will enable you to support and, encourage clients to develop their coping mechanisms, whist you engage in sharing information and assisting the team with shared information.

Working with other professionals at Ringwood within a variety of disciplines, including AOD Counsellors specialising in Forensics, Youth Outreach, Intake, Safety and Prevention and Non Residential Withdrawal Registered Nurses, our team is dedicated to giving clients the best possible support.
