Who we're looking for

Our committed EACH team are looking for a part-time (.4FTE/15.2 hours per week) Carer Peer Support Worker to join them!

We're looking for a 'hands on' individual with a minimum certification IV in Disability, Mental Health or related field and understands the challenges supporting those experiencing chronic/complex mental health or social issues. If you enjoy working in collaboration with a diverse stakeholder group and what to make a real impact on families lives, then we would love to hear from you!

Combined with your experience, ideally you will have lived experience of caring for a young person with a mental illness who has accessed mental health support services. Having worked in the community health sector will have you skilled in brief intervention and single session therapy and ability to integrate into practice, the psychosocial recovery model of mental health.

What you'll be doing

Your strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and ability to produce new ideas, approaches or insights in working with consumers and carers will be key in the day-to-day success, as the Carer Peer Support Worker.

You will support the parents/carers of the young people referred to the BounceBack program, meeting with them individually or as a couple to support them in their journey with their young people's mental health. You will be working in collaboration with the other BB clinical team and health support officers in relation to the young person, where you will advocate for using your case management skills and understanding of the carer needs.

Who you'll be working with

You will be working with a passionate and enthusiastic team which consists of a team leader and senior clinician/coordinator, mental health clinicians from psychology, social work and occupational therapy disciplines, family therapists, peer support and a psychiatrist.
