For over 40 years Diamond Valley Learning Centre (DVLC) has transformed lives through creating educational opportunities for people of the Banyule/Nillumbik region and the wider precinct not served by mainstream education: women returning to work, immigrants, at-risk youth and older citizens. DVLC is considered to be a thriving hub of activity where people come to learn new skills, meet others and complete courses that enable them to take a new direction in life.
Diamond Valley Learning Centre (DVLC) is a not-for-profit charitable organisation operating as an Adult Learning Centre, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), a Learn Local and a Neighbourhood House.
Located at the corner of Diamond Creek and St Helena Roads in Greensborough, DVLC offers Foundation courses including Language, Literacy & Numeracy, Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP), Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) for disengaged and disadvantaged youth, Vocational Education and Training qualifications in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Business Administration, Community Services and Information Technology.
DVLC also offers Pre-accredited training in basic skills necessary for further study or entry-level employment. As a Neighbourhood House, DVLC serves self-managed groups and offers activities that go towards improving quality of life. DVLC is committed to child safety and to zero tolerance of child abuse. As part of the organisation’s culture, DVLC will ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding child safety. All staff are responsible and will be held accountable for their continuing compliance with the Child Safety Policy.
The Reconnect program strives to support Victorians experiencing disadvantage. The program assists participants to overcome the barriers preventing them from engaging in education and training and provides support into further study or employment pathways.
The Reconnect Program Coordinator leads in the day to day operations of the Program including design, development, delivery and evaluation to meet the program funding requirements.
Your skills and experience in youth work especially working with disengaged young people, mentoring, student engagement and program administration will be utilised to support and re-engage young people into education and/or employment.
This is a full-time role.
Applicants MUST have a tertiary qualification with at least 3 years’ experience working with young people and in particular, disengaged young people as well as experience in program management.
