DVConnect supports Queenslanders to find pathways to safety, away from domestic, family and sexual violence. We provide emergency transport and accommodation for entire families including pets. We also provide safety planning, crisis counselling, intervention, information and referrals. In addition we operate the bridging accommodation residence Bella's Sanctuary, a safe haven for victim survivors to heal and rebuild their lives. We are also a key partner in providing specialist therapeutic interventions/counselling support across Australia, within the national 1800RESPECT program. An expansion of our services also includes the development and tailoring of training packages to educate the community and raise awareness on domestic and family violence.
We currently have opportunities for experienced trauma practitioners for our 1800RESPECT program, providing specialist counselling services to people impacted by domestic and family violence and/or sexual assault. The role works within a national framework and requires the highest level of professionalism, ethical behaviour and compassion. You will be joining a team of highly experienced and supportive practitioners that provide amazing support and make a difference every day in the lives of so many.
The role will have you:
There is the opportunity for flexibility with the number of shifts you work each fortnight as a casual or part time worker across a 24/7 roster. All applicants will need to be able to work a minimum of 1 overnight shift per fortnight.
Our current vacancies are currently in the late evening, overnights and weekends.
Any applicant seeking a flexible arrangement to work from home will need to commit to a minimum of 5 shifts per fortnight (including an overnight shift) and will be required to work from the Brisbane office 1 shift per fortnight.
You will need a minimum of 3 years specialist counselling experience (phone counselling desirable) supporting clients who have been impacted by domestic, family and/or sexual violence.
