DUSA is the Deakin University Student Association and is the student voice at the University and in the broader community. We are a small not for profit located in Burwood, Geelong and Warrnambool. DUSA aims at enhancing the student experience to help students succeed. We support all students whether they study off campus, are undergraduates, postgraduates or international students.

This unique role combines elements of both communications and marketing whilst mentoring a small team of three. You will play an integral role in continuing the DUSA communications strategy, which aims to increase membership and student engagement.

More specifically the role will entail:

  • Developing solutions that engage with students to promote our key services and retail operations, participation of activities and drive membership sales
  • Creating social media content with a particular focus on engaging university students
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to produce marketing materials
  • Campaign planning and execution using multiple channels such as web, digital media, social media and print
  • Generating marketing material and publications for the organisation
  • Mentoring and directing work tasks to our part time marketing officer and two part time student interns

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • 5 years' experience in a similar position
  • A tertiary degree in Communications and/or Marketing
  • Ability to promote services, retail operations and memberships via all social media platforms and through internal and external communication channels
  • Up to date knowledge of trends in communicating to the student cohort
  • Experience managing website content
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent written communication skills
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
  • The ability to engage with stakeholders
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

We can offer a competitive salary package + 14% super + 17.5% leave loading + extra leave at the end of the year.
