Drug Education Network

Seeking an experienced, accurate and timely Minute Taker.

Drug Education Network

The Drug Education Network (DEN) is a charity organisation committed to reducing the harms from alcohol and other drugs for our communities through education and leadership. DEN neither condones nor condemns the use of drugs. Rather, we acknowledge that drug use exists irrespective of legal status or societal norms.

DEN is seeking an accurate, efficient, concise and timely minute-taker with the capacity to commit to approximately 8 hours per month as a freelancer (with ABN) to take minutes across DEN’s Board and subcommittee meetings. You will be able to demonstrate previous experience taking minutes in a professional setting, a strict understanding of confidentiality, and a timely turn-around on documents for DEN’s Board and subcommittee members. A basic understanding of finances and financial reports, although not essential, would be desirable.

Commitments within the role include minutes for Board Meetings, Finance and Risk (FAR) Subcommittee meetings and the Annual General Meeting.

The Board presently meets on the first Wednesday of each month, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. The Finance and Risk (FAR) Committee meets in the third week of each month between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

You will work closely with the Board Chairperson, CEO, Chair of Finance and Risk subcommittee and the Finance Officer

This position would ideally suit a retired professional with experience working in confidential settings and minute taking. Most Board meetings occur virtually via Microsoft Teams, with the potential for recording some meetings a possibility.

We are seeking a minute-taker who has:

  • High level written communication skills and a proven ability to accurately record all key decisions and discussion items within a meeting clearly and concisely.
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams, or the ability to quickly acquire relevant skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
