About the role:

Our client is an individual living at home in Bendigo with a spinal injury and requires nurses to help reach community and clinical goals.

Our nurses will demonstrate teamwork and champion a safe and positive environment for our client and will be guided by a strong management presence. You will help us manage and maintain strong clinical standards and will be required to support our client in achieving their short and long-term goals.

We are seeking confident nurses who have experience working with tracheostomies and ideally ventilators to join our collaborative team in Bendigo. Client specific training will also be provided to the right candidate.

Duties:

  • Airway assistance and management
  • Tracheostomy care and maintenance
  • Continuous clinical assessment of client
  • PEGJ management including feeding and medication administration
  • Personal care including skin integrity management and pressure area care
  • Assist alongside the Support Worker with ADL’s
  • Support the client with activities at home and out in the community

You must have:

  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License
  • Valid CPR Certificate
  • Proof of rights to work in Australia
  • NDIS Worker Screener Check

The successful candidate will have:

  • +1-year experience in an Acute hospital setting
  • +1-year experience in ICU/PICU/ED departments (preferred)
  • Exposure to clients requiring tracheostomy care
  • Exposure to ventilated clients (preferred)
  • Experience with manual handling techniques (hoists)
  • Exceptional critical thinking and time management skills
  • You will be assisted by a support worker who will draw on your acute experience and assist with manual handling - promoting a team environment
