A little about the role

The Health Promotion Coordinator focuses on the PVAW priority of the Integrated Health Promotion Program and reports to the Team Leader, Population Health.  The position is a fixed contract until 30 June 2021.

A key focus of the position will be to:

  • Lead the design and development of projects focused on gender equality and the prevention family violence
  • Build trusted partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to plan projects
  • Implement and evaluate health promotion initiatives and develop reports.

In this position you will be responsible for the design, implementation and delivery of community projects and campaigns in the PVAW sector. You will be required to use a place based approach and efficient resource management skills to build, evaluate and manage these programs. You will be provided with guidance, resources, flexibility and support to explore new methodologies to deliver innovative and impactful projects in addressing family violence and the promotion of gender equality.

About you:

  • You have demonstrated experience in health promotion and successful coordination of projects with a range of stakeholders.
  • You have extensive experience within the health and community sectors
  • You are passionate about preventing violence against women and gender equality  and driven to improve outcomes in the local area
  • You are dedicated and determined to change community behaviours, opinions and attitudes.

You will also have:

  • Excellent team skills, interpersonal skills and ability to lead projects.
  • Open minded and ability to be innovative, agile and challenging the status quo.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively within a team.
  • A hands-on approach to building and implementing projects.

The fine print

  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check, hold a valid WWCC and Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme Check
  • Full driver license and travel between sites will be required
  • You may be asked to either provide or register for a Medicare and MBS provider number and agree to donate the total amount from this work to DPV Health
