A little about the role

The Health Promotion Coordinator (HPC) focuses on Diversity and Social Inclusion priority of the Integrated Health Promotion Program and reports to the Team Leader, Population Health. The position is a fixed contract until 30 June 2021. 

A key focus of the position will be to:

  • Establish and facilitate recruitment and training program for community champions and build trusted partnerships with local stakeholders to plan for prevention at scale
  • Lead and support community partnership building to strengthen the reach in promoting health promotion messages and service access to diverse communities.

In this position, you will be required to build sustainable partnerships with local community and partner organisations to tailor health promotion initiatives to improve their impact and improve service access. You will be provided with guidance, resources, flexibility and support to explore new methodologies to deliver innovative and impactful projects in health promotion and prevention with a strength-based approach.

About you

  • You have relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in health promotion and coordination of projects with a range of stakeholders within the health and community sectors
  • You are passionate about community engagement, health promotion and prevention and driven to improve outcomes in these areas
  • You are dedicated and determined to change community behaviours, opinions and attitudes through the use of a strength-based approach

You will also have:

  • Excellent team skills, facilitation and interpersonal skills and ability to lead projects.
  • A flexible nature and open minded with an interest in innovation and challenging the status quo.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively within a team.
  • A hands-on approach to building and implementing projects.

The fine print

  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check, hold a valid WWCC and Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme Check
  • Full driver license and travel between sites will be required
  • You may be asked to either provide or register for a Medicare and MBS provider number and agree to donate the total amount from this work to DPV Health
