About DVSM

Domestic Violence NSW Service Management (DVSM) is a registered charity (ABN: 26-165-400-635) which aims to prevent and support recovery from domestic and family violence and homelessness.

DVSM provides support services in an urban context (Inner Sydney), in a suburban context (Western Sydney) and in a remote rural NSW (Wilcannia). DVSM also provides professional services (Sightlines) to build capacity and share learning about Domestic and Family Violence within the Community Services sector and more broadly with the wider ecosystem.

About the Role:

As a Case Manager, you will be responsible for delivering person centred, strength-based case management services within a Human Rights Framework. Ability to participate in on-call is an essential requirement for the role. The Case Manager works collaboratively within the team environment.

DVSM is taking steps to mitigate the spread and impact of COVID-19 infection and adjusting how services are delivered in the interim. Until further notice our Case Management support will be by phone, email and web technology only.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work in alignment with DVSM values and principles
  • Provide comprehensive case management in alignment with DVSMs Practice Framework to an allocated case load of clients
  • Contribute to client services program objectives
  • Fulfil duties in the relevant Duties Matrix
  • Perform at the relevant level in the CS Capability Framework
  • Adhere to DVSMs Policies and Procedures
  • Undertake other duties within the scope of this role, as reasonably directed

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Criteria

  • At least two years’ case management experience or minimum Diploma in Community Services Sector or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use strengths-based case management approach
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directing, plan and prioritise workload and show initiative
  • Ability to work across a rotating roster across 7 days a week
  • First aid certificate
  • To be female is a genuine requirement for the position under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
  • Current Driver’s Licence is a requirement
  • A successful Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Federal Police check is required to be employed with DVSM

Desirable Criteria

  • Proven ability to work without direct supervision in outreach services
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impacts of domestic and family violence
