Picture yourself in a role where you will get the opportunity to manage Kimberley Population Health Unit’s (KPHU) Aboriginal Environment Health Program in designated remote communities and town-based reserves. You will actively ensure that environmental health strategies meet community needs whilst advocating and advancing environmental health initiatives in the region with local government, Aboriginal communities and other relevant organisations and stakeholders.

Selection Criteria: 

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with Aboriginal people and Aboriginal communities.
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of environmental health related legislation and regulations.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills include human resource, mentoring, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural factors and social determinants particularly relating to Aboriginal health.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Current C Class drivers Licence and an ability and willingness to travel including overnight stays away from home.
  • Current knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment, people management and service delivery.
