The Role

The analyst role is a key function between both the consulting team and telco management team. Reporting to the General Manager, your role will provide a balance between data analytics and project management, depending on the project scope and requirements. On a day-to-day basis your role will include telco bill analysis and auditing in addition to client management.

Key responsibilities include:

Data processing, analysis and auditing:

  • Audit client billing data to ensure their accuracy and identify cost-reduction opportunities
  • Conduct bill analysis to determine commercial forecasting
  • Prepare reports and recommendations on findings in easy to digest and insightful way

Project management:

  • Support internal consulting team to deliver telco procurement projects and develop proposals
  • Attend Dog and Bone meetings with current and potential clients.
  • Provide meeting support to Project Lead, including notes taking and meeting follow-ups to key stakeholders
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and vendors to collate relevant project requirements/information
  • Provide support through to contract preparation and verification

About you

We are looking for a personable and experienced analyst with drive and commitment, who seeks a rewarding role that will contribute to, and has the potential to expand with, the growth and development of our telco service offering. 

You may have worked in the telco industry, at a Managed Service Provider or in a corporate environment when analysis was a predominant aspect of your work. You share similar values to our own and enjoy being part of a collaborative team environment. You have exceptional attention to detail with proven numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills. You demonstrate the ability to comprehend data and explain your findings in a clear and concise manner. Report writing, multi-tasking and excellent communication skills are paramount to your success. 

Understanding of the telco industry and telco transactions, ICT Infrastructure, Networking, Mobility (i.e. Mobile Fleet Management/Mobile Device Management), Procurement and Telephony would be an added advantage. Any project management experience would also be considered favourably. 

Key Selection Criteria

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience working as a data analyst in the Australian corporate or not-for-profit environment 
  • Demonstrated experience in data processing, analysis, auditing and reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Macros and Power Query
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritise tasks, and meet expected deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Desire to be part of a collaborative team environment

Also highly regarded:

  • Understanding of telco industry and billing practices and transactions
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional learning and development are also valued (e.g. PMP certification, etc.)
  • Demonstrated capability with any of the following: project management, technology/services helpdesk, MDM platforms/deployment, contract and service delivery evaluation
