About us

The Office of the Family Violence Principal Practitioner (OFVPP) drives family violence practice consistency and excellence within the Department of Justice and Community Safety and collaboratively across the Victorian Government. The key priorities for family violence reform are identified by the Royal Commission into Family Violence and the 10 Year Family Violence Action Plan.

About the role

As the Senior Family Violence Program Development and Training Officer, you will primarily be engaged in writing, developing and delivering training modules as well as reviewing and assessing family violence programs and formulating a strategic approach.

In the role, you will also:

  • Maintain an up-to-date and thorough awareness of research in family violence best practice and theory.
  • Develop and maintain a current knowledge of Victorian family violence sector reforms.
  • Collect, analyse and share training participant feedback and data for internal evaluation and audit purposes.
  • Develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

In the role, you may be required travel across the state to conduct various training sessions. It will be a requirement that you are able to meet those travel needs, however, due to the current climate, this role will temporarily be web based.

Please note this is a fixed term opportunity until 19 March, 2021.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, education, health promotion, social or political science or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development and facilitation of training modules for adult learners.
  • Highly developed understanding and experience working with family violence victim survivors and or perpetrators, and the dynamics, theory and best practice of this work.
  • Familiarity with the Victorian family violence sector and current reform work.
  • Experience in facilitating engaging and informative training sessions to adult learners.
