About us

Based within the Service Delivery Reform, Coordination and Workplace Safety Division (SDRCWS), the branch is responsible for policy development and analysis, co-ordination, stakeholder engagement and secretariat functions relating to the family violence reforms and the whole of government response to the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System.

The Office of Family Violence Principal Practitioner (OFVPP) team sits in this branch and drives family violence practice consistency and excellence within Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) and collaboratively across the Victorian Government.

The Role

The Family Violence Program Development and Support Officer position will contribute to training projects within the Family Violence and Mental Health Branch and the OFVPP under the leadership of the DJCS Family Violence Principal Practitioner.

The role will be critical in ensuring:

  • Family violence best practice
  • Promoting family violence awareness
  • Practice uplift
  • Professional development across DJCS.

The role will primarily be engaged in contributing to training development work and delivering training modules. The role will also involve supporting other team activities, events, and providing a secretariat role where required to different meetings and working groups.

The position will support work across all divisions of DJCS to drive collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders and may require travel.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will:

  • Have experience in the design, development and facilitation of training modules for adult learners
  • Have understanding and experience in working with family violence victim survivors and or perpetrators, and the dynamics, theory and best practice of this work; as well as familiarity with the Victorian family violence sector and current reform work
  • Have experience in the design, development and support of training packages.

Additionally, this role will benefit from:

  • Experience in providing excellent service delivery, in all aspects including improving initiatives, issue resolution and engaging in a collaborative team environment
  • Well developed stakeholder management and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationship
  • Proven project management understanding and experience from planning and development through to implementation of projects and programs
  • Familiarity with Microsoft teams and Zoom for remote delivery of training would be looked on favourably.
