The Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) is an independent statutory office accountable to the Victorian Parliament which has been established to protect the rights and enhance the position of people with disabilities in Victoria.
The policy, research and systemic advocacy efforts of the Office fall within the area of Systemic Advocacy. The Systemic Advocacy Unit aims to respond to significant issues affecting the lives of people with disability and people with mental illness. The Unit comprises the Coordinator, three other Senior Policy and Research Officers, and one Senior Legal Project Officer.
