Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation (DDWCAC) is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Administration Officer to provide direct administrative support to the Program Manager of Business Services on a day-to-day basis. This exciting role will provide exposure to various areas of the business as you provide support and coordination to the wider Business Services Team.

Accountabilities

As the Administration Officer, you will be responsible for completing a range of administrative duties focused on providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including (but not limited to);

  • Assisting Program Manager with ad hoc administrative tasks and projects.
  • Provide administrative and support services, including but not limited to handling incoming calls, inbox management, documentation management (physical and electronic filing), data entry, photocopying, and scanning.
  • Establish, develop or contribute to administrative processes.
  • Creation, maintenance, and distribution of meeting minutes.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adhoc administrative support to H.R., Payroll/Accounts, Assets and Reception, and other Business Service functions.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate the following skills and attributes;

  • Previous experience in an all-rounder administration role within an office environment.
  • Certificate in Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Take initiative to prioritise own workload and self-motivated to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High level of time management and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with sensitive issues while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Intermediate proficiency in a wide range of software applications, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and other MS Office products, and flexibility and willingness to learn new systems and processes.

The Company

Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation (DDWCAC) actively works to progress the aspirations of the Dja Dja Wurrung (DDW) community. It is incorporated under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (CATSI Act) and is regulated by the Office of the Regulator of Indigenous Corporations. Established in 2004, the principal objectives of the Corporation are to:

  • Promote the health and wellbeing of the DDW People; and
  • Protect and promote the laws, culture, property rights and human rights of the DDW People.

DDWCAC is a Registered Aboriginal Party with the responsibility to protect, manage and preserve DDW cultural heritage, including tasks associated with Cultural Heritage Management Plans and ceremonies such as Welcome to Country and Smoking.

In 2013, the DDW People achieved a Recognition and Settlement Agreement (RSA) with the State of Victoria, which formally recognises the DDW people as the traditional owners for part of Central Victoria. The DDW people nominated the DDWCAC as the ‘traditional owner group entity’ for the purpose of the settlement, meaning it holds and manages the settlement on behalf of the DDW people.

The DDWCAC is a registered Public Benevolent Institution allowing general salary sacrifice.
