The Head of Digital Services plays a key leadership role in delivering strategic digital services and transformation across RACS, working in partnership at a strategic level with the COO, and the executive management team.

Working with Microsoft’s Fast Track service, the first partnership in the APAC region, this position will deliver on a suite of digital services aligned to the organisation’s strategic digital plan, RACS Transformation Plan; leading and fostering collaboration, demonstrating expertise in digital service provision, relationship and stakeholder management with the ability to influence and build partnerships with other executives, senior managers and statutory entity heads.

The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), formed in 1927, is a non-profit organisation training surgeons and maintaining surgical standards in Australia and New Zealand.

RACS is the leading advocate for surgical standards, professionalism and surgical education in Australia and New Zealand.

RACS supports the ongoing development, maintenance of expertise and lifelong learning that accompanies the surgical practice of more than 7,500 surgeons and 1,300 surgical trainees and International Medical Graduates.

The Role:

The Head of Digital Services will implement the future strategy - RACS Transformation Program, determining the roadmap for digital operations to deliver Microsoft 365, transitioning digital operations from predominantly manual to predominantly automated processes.

The Head of Digital Services will be responsible for driving the adoption and integration of digital as a core aspect of RACS service delivery. This includes working with operational and educational teams to ensure our workforce is digitally competent and systems are designed to support the organisation and cost-effective delivery of professional development programs and member services.

Critical to the success of the role is the engagement and best practice focus with the Fellows and teams, ensuring effective operations of the business units. It will lead the organisation to move applications, data, and other components hosted on servers inside the organisation to the Microsoft 365 platform.

The appointee will have an ability to work in a complex work environment, influence technical and non-technical staff at all levels, with a dynamic and approachable demeanour that compels people to success.

Relevant tertiary qualifications required.
