First Peoples Disability Network (FPDN) Australia is a national organisation of and for Australia’s First Peoples living with a disability, their families and communities. FPDN’s purpose is to promote respect for human rights, secure social justice, and empower First Peoples with disability to participate in Australian society on an equal basis with others. We are the traditional custodians of the Land changing the narratives of First Peoples living with a disability, their families and communities and we recognise this important responsibility.
We are looking to employ a Project Officer to work with the Sector Strengthening Manager and to contribute and implement strategies under the Closing the Gap program funding program. It is expected that applicants have an extensive working knowledge of the Closing the Gap National Agreement and the corresponding Priority Reforms and targeted cohorts; the ability to liaise and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including government departments; knowledge and understanding of the cultural model of disability and Human Rights frameworks. Strong administration, stakeholder engagement skills and previous experience experience in a similar role will be well regarded.
This is a fixed term position until June 30 2023
