About the Role

Directions is spearheading an exciting new relationship-based model of therapy and an opportunity has arisen for a Speech Pathologist to join the team. This dynamic role will be as part of a multidisciplinary Allied Health Team, working alongside our coordinators and support workers, to solve problems and create opportunities for the people we support, and their families.

Our Allied Health services provide wrap-around holistic, evidence-based supports for people with a variety of disabilities, across all age groups. The Allied Health Team work collaboratively with the individual, their family, and both their informal and formal supports, in a variety of community and school settings to address the individuals’ concerns and build their capacity.

We are currently seeking a Speech Pathologist who wants to make a positive difference to the lives of people with disability living in the community.

About You

Ideally, the successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  1. Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent;
  2. Current registration as a practicing Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia;
  3. Previous experience in a similar role including experience working with people with dysphagia, autism and using AAC devices;
  4. Experience demonstrating highly effective people and teamwork skills and delivery of outcomes for people in the community services sector;
  5. Experience in the provision of holistic, person-centred and strengths-based services;
  6. Experience in supporting direct care staff with innovative solutions and training;
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to engage people from all backgrounds including CaLD;
