THE POSITION
This position provides support to the NSP program as required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support to the NSP program in an effective and mature manner
- Maintain client confidentiality and appropriate boundaries at all times
- Provide support and assistance to the Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) in both locations (Phillip & Civic), including dissemination of free injecting equipment, resources and information
- Provide referral information regarding Directions’ programs, and services offered by other drug and alcohol and welfare organisation

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE
- Must have Cert IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, or willingness to obtain within first 12 months of employment
- Must have previous experience in the Alcohol and Other Drugs sector
- Experience in a Needle Syringe Program is desirable
- An understanding of the impacts of drug and alcohol use on individuals, their families and the community
- An understanding of the principles of harm minimisation
All appointments will be conditional upon having suitable rights to work in Australia, a Working with Children Check, current First Aid and CPR certification and a satisfactory National Police Check
