THE POSITION

This position provides support to the NSP program as required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support to the NSP program in an effective and mature manner
  • Maintain client confidentiality and appropriate boundaries at all times
  • Provide support and assistance to the Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) in both locations (Phillip & Civic), including dissemination of free injecting equipment, resources and information
  • Provide referral information regarding Directions’ programs, and services offered by other drug and alcohol and welfare organisation

  • Community Service Employee Level 2 role, commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE

  • Must have Cert IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, or willingness to obtain within first 12 months of employment
  • Must have previous experience in the Alcohol and Other Drugs sector
  • Experience in a Needle Syringe Program is desirable
  • An understanding of the impacts of drug and alcohol use on individuals, their families and the community
  • An understanding of the principles of harm minimisation

All appointments will be conditional upon having suitable rights to work in Australia, a Working with Children Check, current First Aid and CPR certification and a satisfactory National Police Check
