POSITION SUMMARY:

Located in a central Operational Design, Implementation and Support Branch, Child Protection Strategic Design and Operations unit and within it the Specialist Intervention unit, you have an important role to support Areas to deliver the child protection program.

The Specialist Intervention unit is a team of child protection practitioners which will provide direct support to operational leadership to build the capacity, capability and sustainability of the child protection service in line with legislative and departmental requirements. The team also contribute to the establishment of business and work processes to support local capacity improvements to better manage and identify opportunities to improve consistency and compliance and promote reform.

Operating as part of the team, these casual Advanced Child Protection Practitioner positions will support operational child protection areas to progress critical tasks.

The role, undertaken remotely, will focus on activities such as case reviews to identify and progress tasks and support decision making, case follow-up and the completion of case closures.

Pivotal to your success in this fulfilling role, ideal candidates will possess;

  • A demonstrated ability to quickly establish strong relationships with Area based child protection practitioners and senior managers
  • Child protection operational experience at a senior level
