Detour House Inc is seeking a supportive, proactive and highly organised AOD Case Manager to focus on aftercare and outreach case management activities across our alcohol and other drug treatment service for adult women at Detour House.
Detour House Inc provides accommodation and care to women and girls in Sydney’s inner-west through two services: Detour House and The Girls Refuge. Through these services, Detour House Inc provides a trauma-informed safe place for women to stay, gain greater stability in their lives, and realise their potential. Our services are specialist homelessness services, focused on reducing the incidence of homelessness experienced by women.
Detour House delivers an abstinence-based alcohol and other drug residential rehabilitation program for adult women. At Detour House, we equip women with knowledge, tools and strategies to successfully transition back into every-day life after completing detox and short-term rehabilitation programs. Detour House is one of only a handful of alcohol and other drug treatment services in NSW that focuses on providing this transitional support back into every-day life.
The AOD Case Manager (Aftercare) position will focus on delivering case management support for clients who are preparing to complete the residential program at Detour House, and clients who are seeking aftercare support upon completion of the residential program. The AOD Case Manager (Aftercare) position will also focus on coordinating psycho-educational workshops and activities for current clients of Detour House. The AOD Case Manager (Aftercare) will also extend support to the core group and individual case management program at Detour House on a flexible, as needs basis.
The current role is offered under a fixed-term contract with possibility of extension, 14 hours per week, until 30 June 2021.
Detour House supports women from a range of backgrounds and is seeking experienced staff who reflect the cultural diversity of our clients. People from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from CALD backgrounds.
Please note: Due to the complex nature of its female clients, Detour House only employs female staff and is exempted under the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
