As part of the Central Desert Group, Desert Support Services Pty Ltd (DSS) provide a range of services that are geared towards supporting Aboriginal Corporations to achieve a sustainable and independent future, focusing on building capacity by empowering local and regional decision making.
This role is an exceptional opportunity to provide leadership and coordination to the Kiwirrkurra Men’s Ranger Team. Working closely with the Kiwirrkurra (IPA) Coordinator, the role will support a range of Indigenous land management activities on Kiwirrkurra country and beyond.
The Kiwirrkurra Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) and Ranger Team is a high achieving program with established partnerships, funding and projects. There are exceptional opportunities led by strong traditional owners.
The successful person will be based in our Alice Springs office and must be available to travel to remote desert communities. The position will require approximately two weeks per month field time throughout the field season.
Whilst this position is fixed term until 30 June 2021, there is a high possibility of a long-term role for the right person (dependent on funding).
