We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled manager to fill a senior position in the organisation and to oversee the successful delivery of the 10 Deserts Project – see www.10deserts.org.
The project, which includes Indigenous organisations and both international and regional conservation organisations, delivers a range of activities to enhance environmental resilience, improve Indigenous livelihoods and develop a strong Indigenous representative organisation for Indigenous rangers and their organisations. The project is managed by Desert Support Services Pty Ltd (DSS).
The project is now in its third year of operation and is currently funded to December 2022 by the BHP Foundation. There is the possibility that the period of funding from the BHP Foundation may be extended due to the impact COVID-19 has had on the level of activity undertaking the project.
If you have extensive experience working at a strategic or executive officer level with Indigenous organisations and working with traditional owners from remote communities, demonstrable success in seeking funding and delivering Indigenous land management projects or programs (particularly across organisations) then this position could be for you.
The successful person will be based in our Perth office and must be available to travel to remote desert communities or interstate as required.
This role is a full-time fixed-term position for the life of the project subject to a successful probation period.
*Note: Applications will only be accepted when submitted through the DSS website and when accompanied by a detailed response to each of the selection criteria.
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
