Description Victoria provides professional description services for art and media. Audio description adds live or pre-recorded verbal information to performances, events, exhibitions, and moving images. Designed for people who are Blind or have low vision, this information is delivered through a variety of means that complement the work.
Description Victoria is seeking a detail-oriented arts administrator with an interest in access and inclusion for people who are blind or low vision for a part-time role. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
The Service Coordinator is an all-rounder, working directly with clients to book and quote jobs, contracting freelance describers, managing budgets and forecasts, preparing board reports, contributing to the development of funding applications, and collaborating with the Lead Describer to advocate for best practice audio description in service to the blind and low vision community.
The Service Coordinator is a flexible part time role.
Salary range is $51,766 per annum plus 9.5% superannuation, pro rata with allowances available for costs associated with working from home.
Hours: 0.5 FTE or approx. 19 hours per week, schedule negotiable.
Term: 12 month fixed term – extension and growth subject to external funding and/or income targets being exceeded.
Location: Based within greater Melbourne – working from home on commencement, potential to relocate.
