Great opportunity for a seasoned campaign specialist to join the peak body for disability service providers and promote the vital work they do in supporting people with disability every day.

Using your skills to communicate across digital and traditional media, you will engage with service providers, support workers and people with disability to tell their stories and the incredible difference that disability services make to the lives of thousands of people every day. Together with external communication experts you will develop key messaging and launch campaign materials to engage a wide range of stakeholders in helping to ensure the sector is adequately resourced to ensure the ongoing provision of high quality support services.

You will be working closely with NDS members, Board members and senior management.

This role is a great fit for a self-starter experienced in the fast pace, ever changing advocacy campaign environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Central point of communication for the organisation, liaising with comms agencies and sector stakeholders
  • Implementation of communication strategies and tactical plans
  • Produce engaging communication across a range of mediums
  • Develop strong relationships with service providers and sector stakeholders to build campaign support and engagement
  • Create content, edit, and publish relevant news, features and web content
  • Develop and provide reporting to senior management & Board Members
  • Project manage campaign output and collaborate with agencies and partners
  • Secure stories for media and online
  • Handle queries and trouble shooting
  • Optimise content with links to related stories

Successful criteria:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications
  • Advocacy campaigning experience highly regarded
  • Campaign management, reporting and budget management
  • Self-starter, proactive and “can do” attitude
  • Highly level of proficiency in writing, editing, proof reading and social media
  • Superior communication, influencing and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent CRM and CMS platform working knowledge and understanding
  • Experience working in a membership organisation environment highly regarded
  • Strong project management capability
