About us

The Department of Communities and Justice carries an important purpose across many areas of its work, particularly when it comes to improving outcomes for children and young people, Aboriginal people, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people experiencing domestic and family violence, victims of sexual assault, juvenile offenders, people at high risk of reoffending, and people experiencing homelessness.

Working together for stronger communities means we can continue to deliver our services with a more unified and collaborative approach. This means a greater focus on prevention and early intervention, faster responses, more seamless operations, less duplication of effort and better outcomes.

ChildStory – Implementation and Practice and Partner Support Team

The team is responsible for the overall development of all Knowledge Articles, learning materials, practice information, training and communication to support correct usage of ChildStory, aligned with contemporary departmental requirements and the Practice Framework.

In addition to producing ChildStory Partner Knowledge Articles and support materials, the Partner Support Team is also responsible for continuing implementation of ChildStory Partner with all PSP contracted OOHC NGOs. This includes providing phone and email support, training and onboarding to NGOs using ChildStory Partner.

About the role

The SPO Implementation and Practice and the SPO Partner Support both report to Manager Implementation and Practice and Partner Support Team in ChildStory. This team falls under the Director ChildStory. Both SPOs are responsible for leading a small team of staff.

The key stakeholders that this role engages with are: internal DCJ users of ChildStory in Districts, Strategy, Policy and Commissioning policy and program owners, OOHC NGO staff using ChildStory Partner, Corporate Information Warehouse (CIW), FACSIAR, Child Wellbeing Units and the ChildStory Reporter Community (all mandatory reporters in NSW).

About you

We are looking for committed, driven staff who have an interest in ChildStory and Partner and working with Districts and OOHC agencies, who can engage others in a helpful, professional way, and who show initiative and innovation. The team is heavily focused on improving the usability and knowledge of ChildStory and Partner, and supporting DCJ in obtaining better information about children and young people who receive services from our department.

The candidate will manage a largely remote team of staff and so requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. Further, the candidate will be required to demonstrate resilience and a strong capacity to both manage change and then lead a team to embrace it. The candidate will need to be able to work under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines a regular part of their work.
