About the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director Business Services forms a key member of the Philanthropy Australia (PA) Executive Team, contributing collaboratively to the strategic direction of the organisation and helping PA develop the operational strategies to meet PA’s strategic objectives as outlined in PA’s 2022-2025 Strategic Plan: (click here)

As the Executive Director (ED) Business Services, you are responsible for the Invest pillar of the Strategic Plan, which aims to invest in our people, processes and systems to create an efficient, effective and sustainable business.

You will be responsible for ensuring the financial viability and sustainability of PA while managing the day-to-day operations of Finance, IT, People and Culture, Governance, Legal and Statutory and Regulatory Compliance. The ED Business Services will also work closely with the Board and Committees as the Company Secretary.

Concurrently, you will provide empowering and values-led leadership to your team, to support the team to deliver excellent services across the organisation.

About You

You are a commercially astute leader who is passionate about making a difference and your highly developed interpersonal skills enable you to forge collaborative working relationships and partnerships with your team and across the organisation. You are a CA or CPA with relevant accounting qualifications and with demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role that has seen you working closely with an executive and reporting to a board. (Company secretariat experience is a bonus). PA is a small, growing, organisation so we are seeking someone who is empowered by working methodically and autonomously, with a growth mindset.
