We are seeking highly motivated applicants for the position of: General Manager.
A wonderful opportunity exists to lead a rights-based, community advocacy and support service for people with disabilities, their carers and families.
We are looking for a person with a strong commitment to social justice to lead the day-to day operations of our organisation supporting both self and systemic advocacy.
Disability Advocacy Service (DAS) is a small, community based, Incorporated Association providing advocacy and support services to people with disabilities in Alice Springs and the Barkly regions. DAS operates from a best practice and client focused model. As a not-for-profit community organisation, DAS offers a free, confidential advocacy service to persons and families with a disability, supporting and enabling clients to exercise their own rights in accordance with the NT Disability Advocacy Standards.
The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications, experience in managing all aspects of a community based organisation as well as an understanding of advocacy needs of people with disabilities in Central Australia. Skills and experience in promoting a culture of collaboration, developing positive relationships with stakeholders and corporate management are essential.
The General Manager will oversee the operational outcomes for all program areas to achieve quality results for people with a disability ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. The position will also provide strategic direction through the implementation of the strategic and business plans. Travel to the DAS office in Tennant Creek throughout the year is a requirement.
