Your Community Health is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Health Promotion Officer to join the dynamic Community Programs Team on a full time (part-time 0.9 FTE will be considered), fixed term basis until end June 2021.

Your Community Health provides a comprehensive range of medical, dental and allied health services and support programs to anyone, through a combination of outreach, client-based and centre-based activities. Our purpose is to enable health, wellbeing and dignity for all people in northern Melbourne by providing responsive and accessible services. We provide priority access to those most at risk of health inequalities and those that may face barriers to accessing traditional health services.

About the role

Reporting to the Community Programs Manager, the Health Promotion Officer position is responsible for coordinating the planning and evaluation of Your Community Health's current Prevention Plan and coordinating planning for YCH's 2021-2025 Prevention Plan.

Your passion and commitment will see you:

  • Coordinate the evaluation and planning of YCH's 2017-2021 Prevention Plan
  • Coordinate YCH's next Prevention Plan
  • Establish strong working partnerships and alliance with relevant Your Community Health teams, community, clients, agencies and community organisations to achieve the objectives of the Strategic Prevention Plan

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Qualification/s in community development, health promotion or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion programs and/or projects
  • Strong project management skills, including managing competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills including problem solving and negotiation
  • Excellent written communication skills
