For over 30 years the Patricia Giles Centre has been providing an expert range of services for women and children in Western Australia affected by family and domestic violence (FDV) and abuse. At the Patricia Giles Centre we believe, if we are to end the systemic occurrence of FDVand gender-based violence, we must address the systemic drivers of gender inequality on an individual and community level. It is for this reason, we are committed to working collaboratively with civil society organisations, communities, corporates and government to make a significant contribution.
As a purpose driven and values-based organisation, we are focused and unified in our efforts. Our vision is at the forefront of every decision we make which guides our legacy into the future. As a Board, we are committed to good governance practice, divergent thinking and a healthy dose of entrepreneurial spirit to help position Patricia Giles Centre as a Centre of Excellence Against Gender-based Violence. Our Board normally meet 8-10 times a year. Some additional meetings are held such as, the AGM and annual strategic planning workshop. Meetings are generally held in person or via videoconferencing.
As an experienced Non-Executive Director you are willing to share your expertise, knowledge and time with our organisation as we forge a new response to systemic FDV and gender-based violence. You will understand the changes and complexities around the government's requirement for efficiency, service quality, value for money and other performance outcomes whilst holding safe the victims of FDV and their families.
To complement the diversity of skills and backgrounds of our Board, you will have high level of knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Membership of the Australian Institute of Company Directors will be highly regarded but not essential.
