With a well-respected reputation based on over 30 years of providing safe crisis accommodation services, the Patricia Giles Centre for Non Violence is the lead Not for Profit organisation operating in the Northern suburbs offering Crisis Accommodation, Housing Support, Outreach, and Counselling & Advocacy services for families affected by FDV and homelessness.

The role

As a member of the Corporate Support team, you will be responsible for providing professional level financial support to the Chief Financial Officer. You will be required to assist with the process and maintenance of financial, accounting and administration functions in alignment with all relevant policies, procedures, and standards. This role is pivotal in the efficient performance of the finance function.

To be successful you will need:

Qualifications and experience:

  • CA or CPA qualified, or as a minimum hold an Associate Diploma in Accounting.
  • Have experience in a similar full-finance function role.
  • Have solid MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, SUMIF, SUM and IF.
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Registrations and licences required:

Appointment to this position is subject to the following:

  • Current and satisfactory National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 3 months)
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • First Aid
  • Verification of working rights in Australia (i.e. Working Visa, Australian Passport, Australian Citizenship)
  • Copies of all relevant qualifications

Key responsibilities:

  • Processing fortnightly payroll and associated reporting to ATO.
  • Managing system changes, back-ups, and upgrades (Deputy, MYOB, XERO, CALXA) and chart of accounts.
  • Managing cash flow, reconciling bank accounts, and loading banking transactions for approval.
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts to produce accurate monthly profit and loss reports and assist with reviewing business divisional performance.
  • Managing monthly and quarterly BAS, IAS and superannuation returns and payments.
  • Preparing the annual workers’ compensation insurance return and payments.
  • Preparing annual budgets and forecasts for review by Executive Management.
  • Assist with year-end audit and Grant Acquittals.
  • General finance and administrative support.
