Conservation Volunteers is a national, not-for-profit, community based organisation that is dedicated to involving both local and overseas volunteers and trainees in conservation projects for the betterment of the Australian environment. Each year approximately 12,000 volunteers (2,500 of whom are from overseas) are engaged on over 2000 projects. By becoming a member of the Conservation Volunteers team, you will be using your skills to enable this work to continue.

The Regional Coordinator will manage the Mackay office and be responsible for coordinating and leading practical conservation activities, driving community engagement, generating volunteer recruitment, grant applications and coordinating program administration and delivery for Conservation Volunteers Australia programs in the Mackay region. You will work in conjunction with the Central Queensland Manager on strengthening, development and management of effective external relationships with project partners to help increase funding and volunteer recruitment.

For success in this role you will need:

  • Experience with public speaking
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and grammar skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • The ability to motivate and inspire people
  • Demonstrated experience in proactive recruitment and community involvement
  • Full Driver’s Licence
