We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to lead teams of volunteers on our conservation programs working in the Sydney region. As a CVA Conservation Officer, you will be working on projects in both local and remote locations, being responsible for the safety, welfare and supervision of volunteers. This position may include travel to a range of project locations where you will stay on site for periods of time whilst completing projects. Our major programs include a range of practical activities to protect threatened species, repair wetlands, plant trees and maintain walking trails and the like. Our projects range from single day activities to larger projects of 10 days’ duration.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in working with community groups
  • Full driver’s licence (mandatory)
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of OHS policies and procedures
  • A sound knowledge of practical conservation activities
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft suite
  • Excellent people management and training skills
  • Solid organisational skills including time management

Preferably, candidates should hold Senior or Level II First Aid and have an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This position would ideally suit a local candidate and preference will be given to applicants already living within the region.
