The School of Population Health at Curtin University is one of four schools in the Faculty of Health Sciences, however accounts for approximately 45% of all research and 40% of HDR (Doctoral) students. The Faculty of Health Sciences also hosts the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health Impact Assessment. The School of Population Health is recognised internationally as a leader in education and research across the full spectrum of population health and psychology disciplines. The School offers undergraduate programs and units in Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Occupational Health and Safety, Health Promotion, Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, Health Information Management and Health Sciences. Postgraduate teaching and supervision of Higher Degree by Research students is provided in Health Promotion, Sexology, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Dietetics, Epidemiology, Health Administration, Health Communication, Health Policy and Management, Health Service Management, and Public Health. The School is involved in research, consultancy and commercial activities in all areas of Public Health, but particularly in the areas directly related to current programs.

The School of Population Health is seeking an Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer in Health Impacts of Climate Change (and more generally in Health Impact Assessment) to become part of the Occupation, Environment and Safety team. The School is strengthening capacity in Climate and Health research and the ideal candidate would be an emerging leader in research in the field as well as having significant teaching experience. The incumbent would be joining a team that includes considerable expertise in occupational and environmental health, respiratory health, epidemiology and vector-borne diseases.

Doctoral qualification in environmental health or a closely related field, as well as a significant research track record related to health impacts of climate change. You will ideally be willing to lead and expand the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health Impact Assessment which is based at Curtin. It is envisaged that the role will be evenly split between teaching and research. It would be desirable if you are additionally eligible for full membership of Environmental Health Australia and able to teach across both the Environmental Health and Health and Safety courses.
