We are the leading organisation for brain cancer research, advocacy and awareness in the region, with a mission to unite our community to rapidly improve brain cancer survival and a vision to ultimately find a cure for brain cancer.

The Role

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping the way our organisation is perceived by key audiences. You will drive brand awareness by being involved in all stages of the communications process and be responsible for creating and developing resources to support and drive diverse income streams for the Foundation.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development:

  • Work to develop and manage content for the Foundation.
  • Work across all areas of the Foundation to develop key internal resources for major campaigns and projects as required.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to integrate strategic communications with fundraising opportunities.
  • Write and produce regular digital content for the website, social media platforms, newsletters, fundraising appeals and blog.
  • Assist in the development of key Foundation communications, including press releases, annual reports, and media briefs.
  • Develop consistent messaging across all external communications ensuring that all communications are on brand.
  • Work collaboratively with key team members to develop case for support documentation.

Social and Digital Media:

  • Develop and grow Foundation presence across social platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other channels.
  • Define and implement strategies to grow brand presence in existing and new social channels, to increase followers and engagement.
  • Oversee the management of the master content calendar for all social media and digital properties.
  • Work collaboratively with key team members and vendors to build strong content and digital campaigns to best communicate Foundation stories and initiatives.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all platforms.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders internally & externally including media contacts, corporate partners, non-profit and government collaborators, community members & ambassadors.
  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to contribute to our digital fundraising strategy and activities including email fundraising, social media advertising and donor acquisition, crowdfunders and peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.

Desired Qualifications

  • At least 4 years’ experience in a communications role
  • Relevant tertiary skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience in effectively communicating complex information in an engaging and easy to understand manner
  • Demonstrated experience in social media management
