CUFA is a small development agency with a focus on promoting financial inclusion, increasing financial literacy and improving economic livelihoods. CUFA has been developing community access to affordable financial services in the Asia Pacific region for nearly 50 years, working cooperatively at grass-roots through to government levels, building capacity in emerging financial cooperative movements to create sustainability, improve lives, and relieve poverty.

CUFA has a full time Special Projects Officer role available to work from our Sydney office. This entry-level position with some experience in prioritising and self-managing multiple projects to completion will ideally suit an energetic and driven individual with a passion for the international development sector. The applicant must have a high level of written and spoken English language proficiency and be extremely effective in managing their time and focus. Responsibilities involve managing a number of diverse organisational project activities.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting and exceeding agreed deadlines and targets
  • Working in close collaboration with CUFA's CEO to decide on project priorities and timelines
  • Initiating and implementing project activities and tasks and seeking out suitable resources
  • Coordinating and influencing other CUFA team members to achieve project activity goals
  • Managing each of the project budgets where appropriate
  • Devising creative solutions to achieve the desired project outcomes
  • Regularly reporting on progress to plan.
