Kindergarten Bus Driver - C&K Mackay North Community Kindergarten

About the role:

At C&K Mackay North Community Kindergarten a position has become available for a permanent part time Bus Driver to join their Centre on a fixed term contract for 2021.

The primary purpose for this role is the safe drop off and pick up of the children to and from their homes to the C&K Mackay North Community Kindergarten in the morning and afternoons. You will also be required to assist with setting up and cleaning of the bus, and maintenance.

You will be completing paperwork and organising bookings of children and families from this Centre.

The bus is a 11-seater which provides transport of ages 3-5. This position is more than just a bus driver for the service, it is a great opportunity to work within the Centre and be involved with the local community of Mackay.

This is a spilt shift position that requires you to work mornings and afternoons only through the Kindergarten term time. This means there is no shifts required through recess leave (school holiday time) and on annual leave days for the Kindergarten.

You will be a bus driver 5 days a week working 4 hours each day, 2 hours in the morning before Kindergarten starts and 2 hours in the afternoon once Kindergarten ends.

C&K Mackay North is looking for a Bus Driver to commence in March 2021 and working through to the 10th December 2021 on a fixed term contract.

Ideal applicants will have:

• Clean Open Driver's Licence
• Certificate lll in Early Childhood or higher or enrolled and actively working towards one would be highly desirable, but not essential.
• Local area knowledge
• Time management and organisational skills essential
• Ability to relate and be approachable to families and children
• Experience driving a 11-seater or more bus, desirable 
• Current Paid Blue Card (or willing to obtain one)
• Up to date First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate/s
• Experience working with children desirable
• Availability to be flexible for split shifts over the 5-day week
• Ability to commit to working 12 months in this role is essential
