C&K Redlands Community Kindergarten have a strong focus on nature play, developing environmental awareness, developing independence and resilience, cooperative learning and early literacy and numeracy. Everything C&K Redlands does is through fun and play while at the same time introducing routine and structure to help children with the transition to school.

About the role:

C&K Redlands Community Kindergarten is currently looking for an experienced Inclusion Support Assistant. As an Inclusion Support Assistant, you would be required to assist with the whole group, however there is a large element of one-on-one care required for additional needs children in this position. The successful applicant must have previous experience in a similar role and be confident in dealing with multiple children with complex needs, have the drive and capability to implement and introduce strategies into the program and be flexible with their hours.

  • Work days - Alternate Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 5 days a fortnight
  • Work Hours- 4 hours a day between 9 - 2.30 pm
  • Immediate Start

Please note, these hours are subject to review throughout the year and could be reduced depending on how the children are settling in

The suitable applicant will be expected to:

  • Work with and support children with additional needs.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG); 
  • Assisting with monitoring, recording, and evaluating children's learning and experiences and makes adjustments to the program where necessary. 
  • Supporting and guiding children's behaviour in positive ways.

Ideal applicants will have:

  • Approved Early Childhood Certificate III in Children's Services (or equivalent qualification);
  • Hold a current Blue Card or ability to obtain a Blue Card;
  • Current First Aid/ CPR including Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working in a high need's environment.
  • Previous experience with children with additional needs, specifically ASD, ADHD, ODD, Speech & language and complex behaviours.
